A public meeting was held in the Theatre Royal on Saturday night, attended by over two hundred persons, when it was resolved by acclamation that, whereas it is tho duty of every adult male to take part in the defence of New Zealand, this meeting is strong-" ly in tavour of Government introducing legislation to provide for universa 1 training of our young men m lieu of the voluntary system.
