MAKARA COUNCIL
The Makara County Council met today. There wore present : Councillors Bryant (chairman), Haggerty, Eastwood, Moore, Monk, and Hawkins. The ranger was instructed to impose full fees on wall stock falling into his hands, or to take the stock to the pound. Slaughtering licenses were issued to the following: — Wellington Meat Export Co., Messrs. Grant, Ryder Bros., Wilkes, Matthews, Robinson, and Dimook. On the motion of Councillor Moore, a rate of |d in the £ was levied on tho county. ' The counoil passed accounts amounting to £290 6s 7d.
