Newspapers of every party continue to devote many columns to the proceedings at the Imperial Press Conference. Leading articles on the subjects , dealt with appear daily. Many of the delegates are anxious torestrict to-day's discussion on "Literature and Journalism" in order to continue the debate on imperial defence. The Daily Mail comments on the astonishing unanimity displayed at the conference in regard to the Navy. Though the subject is fraught with all the elements of political controversy, Sir Edward Grey agrees with Lord Rosebery, Mr. Balfour with Sir Edward Grey, and Mr. Haldane with Mr. Balfour. SOCIAL FESTIVITIES. DELEGATES AT THE MANSION HOUSE. LUNCHEONS AND BANQUETS. LONDON, 10th June. The visiting press delegates and a hundred others were the guests of the Lord Mayor of London, Sir George W. Truscott, at the Mansion House yesterday. (Received June 11, 8.25 a.m.) LONDON, 10th June. While the press delegates were being entertained at the Mansion House, the ladies of the party were given a luncheon by the Victoria League at the Hyde Park Hotel. N The Countesses of Jersey and Crewe, Ladies Beaconsfield and Northcote, Miss Balfour, and Mesdames Harcourt, Lytteiton, Gladstone, and Austen Chamberlain acted as hostesses. The Labour party entertained the delegates at tea on the terrace of the House of Commons. No speeches were delivered. Later, the delegates with their ladies motored to the Ranelagh Club, at Barn Elms, where they were banquetted by Mrs. C. A. Pearson. Mr. Pearson, who had done much work v. -organising tho conference, was absent undergoing an operation to his eyes. The beautiful grounds were illuminated.
