WAIHI MINING NEWS. THE EXTENDED MINE.

[By Telegraph. — Special to The Post.] WAIHI, This Day. The rise from tho No. 4 level in the Waihi Extended Mine to connect with the No. 4 winze, holed through a day or two ago, and splendid ventilation has been provided. The rise was carried up about 24 feet before thfe connection was made, and was in good sulphide ore all tho way. Driving both ways on the No. 2 reef is now in progress, the drift going west having been carried along for about j 20 feet, the quartz penetrated looking well throughout. Going east only a few foet have been driven, and nice sulphide ore is showing in the face. The manager will continue to 'advance both drifts, and will from time to time project crosscuts to prove the width and value of the lode.
