In the Assembly recently votes were passed of £2500 to promote the objects of the Tourist Association, £2500 to enable Tasmania to bo represented at tho Franco-British Exhibition, £300 to tho Western Silver Mining Company, and £2000 to the New Pinafore Gold Mining Company to promoto deep sinking. William Blume, who is accused of the murder of Annie Kay, near Mbuntain Lake, on or about 11th May, has been brought to Hobart from the West Coast by the s.s. Mahinapua, and lodged in the lock-up. Ho is a native of Sweden, and was discharged from the barque Eden Holme after the wreck of that vessel early in the year. The police state that they have more than circumstantial evidence to connect Blume with the murder.. He is under remaud.
