,Tho Eocond clay of the calo of work and entertainment in aid of the Uliitarian Church Building Fund has added to the success and populai'ity of tho proceedings in the Masonic Hall. Iho Wellington Navnl ArtilleTy Volunteers held, their twenty-ninth annual ball in the Druidi' Hall, Taranaki-street, last evening. Shiner, organising secretary, Miss Murcutt, well known as a lecturer on Japan, and others who for years have been associated with temperance and no-license work in all parts of the colony. There was a short programmo of tongs and speeches, and the gathering was most enjoyable. On Wednesday and Thursday, 31st July and Ist August, the Thorndon Amateur Dramatic Society will produce H. J. Bryon's comedy-drama, "Blow for Blow." The production is under the direction of Mr. Harry Norman. The annual ball under tho auspices of the Wellington Engineers will bo held in the Sydney-street Hall on Friday, 6th September. A Scottish Infcleside will be held ni the Druids' Hall, Taranaki-street, on Friday, 26th July. A sacred concert will be given at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Newtcwn, tomorrow evening. A good programme of sacred music has been arranged.
