[BY TELXOBAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] HOKITIKA, 20th February. Mr. T. E. Y. Seddon, M.H.R., was tendered a complimentary "nodal" by his supportcra this evening. The DrilUbcd, whore the function wan hold, was artistically decorated, and tho attendance) numbered 800. Tho Hon. James Holmes proBided. Apologies for absence were received from every member of tho Ministry, all expressing their high appreciation of Mr. Soddon's sterling qualities, and of being a worthy son of a great father. Mr. Seddon, in replying, mado a speech lasting an hour, referring to many political questions of tho day. Tho function was a great success, and indicated that Mr. Seddon has won golden opinions from tho groat bulk of tho electors. Tho Hon. Mr. M'Gowan made a short complimentary speech. Mr. Sbddon road a, telegram from tha Acting-Premier, in which, among other matters, it was stated that ho hoped when tenders are received for the Arthur's Eaes tunnel they will cause him to have no hesitation to accept ono.
