* , AICKJN BOUND OVER TO KEEP THE PEACE. I [BY TEHBaBAI'H--rRESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, This Day. William Stevenson Aickin, an Auckland sharebroker, who pleaded guilty to a charge of sending a threatening latter to the Premier, was brought beforo Mr. Justice ' Edwards at tho Supremo Court to-day. Ho consented to the terms originally proposed, and was accordingly bound over to keep the peace for three years on his own recognisance of £1000 and two sureties of i £500 oaoh. One of , the conditions I imposed was that he should not go boypnd a 30 miles radius of the Auolcland city. Aickin asked wlmt would happen if at any timo he wished to go to the Thames, or Te Aroha or Waihi or other placos outsido of the limit on business. Could any arrangement be made for permission to do sot His Honour said ho supposed this might be arranged with the consent 6f tho Crown solicitor or of himself if he wore in Auckland. "Wo don't," he added, "wnnfc to tie you tip." In reply to his Honour, Mr, Tolo, Grown solicitor, said ho anticipated thero would be no difficulty. His Honour (to accused) : Thero will be no objection about anything reasonable. No ono wants ,to rostrict your freedom oh long as the 1 public aro safe, Certainly wo don't want to sond you to prison. ■ * Aickin: I am suro your Honour has been very kind. Hiß Honour: Well now, put the wholething out of your hoacl, and go away and ivbtond to your aharobroklng. Aickin smiled and nodded affirmatively, and left tho court with his bondarrion.
