A cricket match was played on Nowtown Park yesterday between teams v rom tho Methodist ministers attending 'ho Confcronco now sitting in Wellington •Mid tho To Aro House Drapory Company. Tho former wero victorious by >'bout HO runs. Somo very good cricket was shown by tho gentlemon of tho •loth, especially tho Roys. Blomires (3) md Chappotl. For tbo Drapers, Paget {10) and Uornasconi (4 wickets for 4 .•uns) Imtiod and bowled bcHt. Afternoon tea was provided by tho ladies. Tho annual match between tho Old )|oys and Prosent Boys and Masters of To Aro School took praco at tho Athletic I'ark yesterday afternoon in ideal cricket leather. Tho Old Boys mado 157— R. Nowbold 11, D. Little 28, T. Meston 27, W. Arthur 35, H. Birch 18. Monaghan and Doherty woro tho most aiiccessful bowlers for tho School, who wmlo 107— R. Darroch 32, B. Doborty 30, Tandy 10. W. Arthur, 11. Nowbold, O. M'Artlmr, L. M'Konzio, and T. Meston divided tho pickets for tho Old Hoys, who thtio won by 60 runs. Messrs. Dradley and Watson acted as umpiros. Aftornoon tea was provided by tho Old Hoys' Association for pluyors, toacliers, iiiwl friends, and about two hundred small boys woro regaled with cako. Messrs. Litflo and M'Konzie havo proMinted two bats to tho school for competition next season. In tho Union v. Oriontalfl (Senior) gtttuo yesterday, Union, batting first, secured 52 runs (Burton 20, M'Gill 10); Orientals replied with 257 (F. Laws 122 retired, C. 801 166 not out, Watkina 37, N. Cook 15). Unions' second innings, 5 wickota for 180 runs (Burton 89, M'Gill 44, Queo j.i>. Bonnor 12). As time was up, tho match onded in a draw. Bowling for Unions, Richardson took 6 wickots for 76 nuts, Bonncr 1 for 43, Quee 1 for 72. For Orientals, 801 l took 5 wickets for 23, and Laws 5 for 25 m tho first innings, and in tho second innings, Osborno took 3 wickots for 18, M'Kay 1 for 8, and M'Konzie 1 for 31. Out ol a total of 257 runs only 8 byes were recorded against Patcrson, who kept wickois for Unions. Umpires for Saturday's junior gamos havo boen appointed as follows:— Junior.— Phoenix v.
