[DT TELEGRAPH-'-PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WAIROA, This Day. The remains of the late Mr. Thomas Carroll arrived at Huramua on Saturday, ■n hen a large number of natives gathered. Songs of lamentations were sung and other demonstrations of Maori grief made. The body is lying in state in a tent on the lawn, the coffin being covered with rare Maori mats. Hundreds of Europeans and Maoris visited Huramua yesterday. The funeral takes place this afternoon.
