IMPROVEMENTS AT THE MUTT. ADDITIONS AT BELLEVUE HOTEL.

In another column of this issue is a notice of interest to the builders of the city, and to the public generally. The notice is a call for tenders for additions to the Bellevue Hotel. Mr. Lodder, the proprietor, has decided to add considerably to the present premises. Plans have been prepared by Mr. William Chatfield, architect, for the additions, wbich will be a two-story building attached to the present houee on ite southern side. One of the features of the extension of the premises will be an entirely new din-ing-room, which will have a length of 46ft with a breadth of 30ft. Attached will be an up-to-date servery, a commodious kitchen, equipped with the must modern appliances and conveniences, including scullery, storeroom, etc., aud a apecial dining-room for the servaiite. The , whole house will have an ample hotwater supply, for which purpose a steam boiler is to be used. There is to be a storage capacity for water of 2500gaJs, supplied by artesian wells. Off the maitt dining-room there will be a small bar, and a private room for small parties of diners. Bedrooms and sitting-rooms are to be provided both on the ground floor and upstairs, together with baths and all sanitary and other conveniences. On tne first floor ample provision will be made j for means of escape in the event of fire. A long and deep verandah and balcony, equipped with sun-blinds, should prove popular lounging places during tho summer season. The house will be lighted throughout with gas and equipped with electrio bells. The additions to Bellevue Hotel will cover a surface of 8500 square feet, but it is not Sir. Lodder's intention to stop with these extensions. Provision is made in the plans for further additions in the near future. The tenders called for in to-day's issue are to close on the 17th pror., and the work is tQ be pushed on vigorously.
