CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. This •morning was fine, and «some good work was got through. Cannie Chiel and Quarryman ran a mile in linin 46isec, finishing together. Count Gorton and Bean Seaton covered half a mile 'in 50fsec. Stronghold was not extended in. & four furlongs' spin, which took 55sec. Lady Wayward and King's, Guest finished on terms at the end of a five-furlong gallop in lmin 6sec. King Stork took lmin 35 sec over the last seven furlongs of a useful mile gallop. Mohican and Stepdancer ran a mile in lmin 49gsec, and Clanbur« did a similar task in lmin 49£ sec. Maiakoff, carrying a light-weight, easily beat! Wet Blanket over seven furlongs in Imio 33sec. Asteria sprinted five furlongs obi the grass in lmin ssec; Shellfire took lmin 48sec to cover a mile, and Golden Vein ran six furlongs in lmin 22isec Tsareona, Makaroff, and Calypsch scampered over half a mile on the grass in 53|sec, and Bonnie Brae and Gay £>parli did a similar journey in 53£ sec. GlenorleV easily held Clanchattan at the end of hall • a mile, in 51|sec. A number or othere did from haif to three-quarter pace work
