THE RETURN FROM LHASSA. SEVERE HARDSHIPS. [press association.] (Received October 21, 8.42 a.m.) BOMBAY, 20th October. Two companies of mounted infantry, the Bth Ghoorkas, 40th Pathans, with several guns and many details, were snowbound at Phari, on their return from Lhassa. Seventy-two were exhausted, and falling into a state of lethargy, implored to be left to die. They were carried to Phari, • where stores were accumulated.
