CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Being an off day, little work of importance was done at Riccarton this morning. Lady Wayward, . from a standing start, ran four furlongs in 52aec. The following, did from steady to half -pace Work :— Cafanie Chiel, "Vmorrow, Tessera, Chryseis, Signalman, Stronghold, Quarryman, King's Guest, Magnificent, Count Gorton, Ability, Catherine Gordon, Muretta, Malakoff , Tupara, Eurus, Huku, Stepdaneer, The Guesser, ihe Mohican, Clanburn, King Stork, Saranges, Phaetonit ie, Gold Bangle, Cerise and Bltte, Conal, Ingleneuk, Shellfire, , Ordnance, Oyster, Beau Season, Makaroff, Tsariona, and Calypso. Terrapin and Zealous did half a mile in 52sec. Sir Geo. Clifford's two-year-olds — Glenowlet, Clanchattan, Bonnie Brae, and Jacket— were exercised at the barrier.
