The Ty»er liner Marere, now discharging cargo from London at Auckland, left London on the 21st August, and had fine weather to arrival at Melbourne on the 30th September, the voyage having been completed in the capital time of 39 days 15 hours, wbioh ii mid to be a record for the Tyaer Company's steamers. Captain J. O. Felgate is still in- charge of the vessel, the other officers being:— Chief, Mr. Linklater; second, Mr. Duncan; third, 11. Collett; fourth, Mr. Reynold*. Mr. Anderson is chief engineer, Mr. Simpson lecond, Mr. Johnson third, Mr. Allen fourth, »nrt Mr. Ruttle fifth. Mr. Birkenshaw is ohief refrigerating engineer, and Mr. Campbell second.
The ioow Eia Ora, from Whtngarei, arrived Jn the stream yesterday, evenijig, and was
berthed thii morning. Captain Pieroy reports that he left the Northern port two weeks ago, and was delayed by running into the recent southerly gale. The vessel has on board 41,000 ft of telegraph poles, on the discharge of which she is to sail for Mongonui to load for Auckland, retmiiing thence Wellington with another oargo of poles. The Hapourika, from the West Coast and Nelson, is to sail from Nelson at 6.30 tomorrow evening, and should arrive here early on Sunday morning. The Taieri is to be placed on the Patent Slip to-morrow for cleaning and painting. She will come off on Monday night or Tuesday morning, and sa.il for Weitporfc. The s Union Company's steamer Mararoa on arrival at Dunedin on the 23rd inst. is to withdraw from her present run and lay up for an overhaul previous to entering the Wellington-Lyttelton ferry service for the summer season. The vessel will make her first run from LytteUon on the Ist November, and the 'Rotonnhana will remain at LytfceUon , until Wednesday, the 2nd, in order to set the running in order. The Mokoia will oome through from tl]e South in the East OoaitSydney service in place -of th« Mararoa, and the Warrjmoo will take 'the Mokoia'a trade. ! The departure of the Tyier ftteamer Mimrro for Lyttefton aus Durreilin baa been postponed until noon to-morrow. The Union Company*! steamer M-*»'ulca, whwh has transferred from the Vancouver service to the Sydney-Auckland trade, is being run by the following officers :—Gaptytn E. Phillips ; chief officer, Mr. J. Dxewette; second, Mr. A. Showman; third. Mr. G. Robertson; fourth, Mr. F. Kendall; purser, »r v . O. H. Gillon; chief engineer, Mr. D. O. Paton ; second, Mr. S.
