[UK TELttQRAVH — r-BESS ASSOCIATION. I INVERCARGILL, This Day, A petition is in circulation here asking the Mayor to take a poll of ratepayers on the question of the adoption of rating on unimproved values in the borough. The proposal, when submitted three years ago, was defeated through the requisite number not going to the poll, and the new action is due to the amending Act of last session, which enables a bare majority to settle the question.
