The Sidney poKce have cabled for' ConweyJs sister to give evidence in the murder case. She wiH probably leave via Melbourne on Monday. , Two old identities have passed away during the past forty-eight hours —viz., Mr. F. G. Wayne, of Milton, who was lav reader at Shag Point in the sixties, when the only Anglican churches in Otago were there and at Dunedin, and Who represented, Hampden in the House of Reoreserrtatives from 1863 to 1866; and Mrs. J. T. Wright, of Bishopscourt, Dunedin. The Otemata Station, with 22,000 sheep', jointly occupied by Messrs. Ritchie and Teschemaker, was sold yesterday, owing to the partnership expiring by efflaxion of <tftne. The property was purchased by Mr. J. M. Ritchie for £13,500.' CHRISTTCHURCH^ This Day. It is alleged that the sum of over £50 has been taken from a safe on the premises of Mr. Prank P. Cook, grocer. There are no sagns of the premises having been entered, 'and the keys were found in the lode of. the safe. t The police are j enquiring into the matter. Mrs. Heskett, Miss Lancaster, and Mr. E. Smith, assistant at Bonningfcon's chemist's shop, have left for Sydney to give evidence in the Conway case. It' is stated that the evidence of Miss Lancaster will be of a sensational nature. ; WOODVILLE, This Day. Constable Brosnahan on Wednesday night arrested two men on suspicion of being concerned in a robbeiy at Bunnythorpe: The men were remanded to Pahnerston. >
