THE WIZARD OF THE NORTH. Professor Anderson, the Wizard of the North, who is supported by Miss Blanche Anderson, clairvoyant, will only be able to give pne performance in Wellington, and this will take place in the Opera House to-morrow night. Presents will be distributed by a committee selected by the audience. The capital programme of Dixs Gaiety Company was again well received' by a large audience at the Exchange Hail last night. Miss Alice Layton!s singing of "Annie Laurie" was doubly encored. Messrs. Cyril Iredale and Walter Rivers made hits with their songs The audience never wearied of Mr. Tom Leonard's oddities. On Monday evening Jkr. J. (J. J3ain will re-appear, and on the same occasion the Belavales, who are ci"ver trick cyclists, will jo # in the performers. Last night's performance at the Choral Hall was notable for the reappearance of some old favourites. Miss Lena Harvey's serio-comic items were warmly received, and won her many encores. Another new-comer, Mr. Dave Caston, danced and sang to the satisfaction" of the audience. Fisko a youthful juggi^r, made his first appearance in Wellington, anS gave a clever performance in whiivh balls, knives, bottles and numerous othcu" articles were utilised to show his dexterity. The other members of the company were also well received. One of Sivroni's encore songs might with benefit be left unsung. The last two nights of i Miss Blackie and Mr. Wai. Cottier, are announced. Miss Lottie Lome, character impersonator, will make her first appearance to-morrow night. A short season of three nights will be opened in the Opera House -. V .>, - -♦ • ; . evening by the Sharp-Rafale <vskf Company, whose performances are said by leading Australian papers, and by the press of that part of the colony which they have visited, to be of a brilliant character. The Yorkshire Society will hold its monthly meeting to-morrow evening at the Trocadero. A cordial invitation is extended to all Tykes. At the Sailors' Rest last evening, a. musical programme arranged by Mr. Butcher, met with hearty appreciation. Among the vocalists were Mrs. Webster, Miss Ellison, Messrs. Butcher, Ellison, C. Kirk, Thomas (Loch Troll), and A. G. Spencer. Miss Ellison, played the accompaniments. Last night's performance at the Federal Theatre was witnessed by a moderate audience, and the various contributors did their best to please.
