TARATAHI-OARTERTON RACES. [BY TELEGBAPH. — PKESS ASSOCIATION.] CLAREVILLE, 10th November. The high wind which blew all day raised clouds of dust, which made mat* I tens rather unpleasant for visitors. In the lawn the ashes from the grandstand fire were blown about and proved so disagreeable that the stand was soon deserted. Mr. S. Cundy acted as starter, probably for the last time, and his despatches were good. Two totalisatora were worked by Mr. A. R. Macfarlane in a satisfactory manner. The first day's total (£5755) was £20 less than the corresponding day last year, but the second day there was an increase of about £300. The protest lodged against Aide-dc-Camp in the Telegraph Handicap was dismissed, no evidence being offered in support of it.
