[PBESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received November 12, 9.10 a.m.) LONDON, 11th November. . FROZEN MEAT. The following ate the official quotations of the Frozen Meat Trade Association for mutton and lamb in lots of 100 carcases of fair average quality : — Mutton — Now Zealand crossbred wethers and maiden ewes — Canterbury, unchanged, at 4&d per lb ; Dnnedin and Southland, unchanged, at 4d ; North Island, unchanged, at 3Ja. i River Plate crossbred or merino wethersLight, unchanged, at 3£d. Lamb is unchanged. • Now Zealand beef — Fair average quality, 1801b to 2201b, ox-fores, l-16d lower at | 3 5-16 per lb ; ox-hinds, $d lower, at 4d. j HIDES. Queensland, heavy s|d, light 5f d. BASILS. Now Zealand basils, ll£d. SILVER. Bar silver is quoted at 2s s|d per oz. The Department of Agriculture have rboeived the following cable message from the Agent-General, datod London, 11th November :—": — " Average price of butter for the week, 109s ; market dull. Cheese, 655 ; • expected to remain quiet. Hemp is very firm ; spot Wellington, .£24; Manila, £83." The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company,' Limited, reports : — We had an average attendance of buyers on Thursday and a fair yarding of stock. Grown steera were again dull of sale, bat young cattle and store cows maintained recent good prices.' We yarded several pens of sheep which were quitted at ruling prices. The line of eight purebred AMerney heifers advertised were purohased by Mr. J. O. Batchelor at i>B' 10s. Pigs were dull of sale, and there was little enquiry. We quote : — Sheep — Empty ewes, 10s 9d ; mixed hoggets 12s 2d, ewes and lambs 14s 3d, forward wethers 16s. Cattle — Weaners 2(5s yearlings £2 8s 6d. £2 12a, 18-months heifers £2, l(<s, 2-year steers £3 10s, store cows £4, fat cows .£4 15s, cows with calf at foot £& 2s 6d to £A 7s 6d, springing hoifers £Z 16s, springing cows £5, pedigree Alderney heifers £8 ! 10s. J Messrs, Abraham and Williams report: — At Palmerston on Thursday we had a full t yarding of cattle and an average entry of sheep. There was a large attendance, and bidding was brisk throughout the sale. With the exception of two pens of cattle everything yarded was sold. Fat wethers, 17s to 17s 4d ; forward wethers, 15s sd. 15s 9d, 16s Id ; fat ewes, 14s 9d ; fat and forward ewes, 13s 9d ; forward ewes, 12s 6d ; store ewes, 8s 4il ; hoggets, 12s 6d ; ewes and lambs, Its ; shorn fat ewes, 10s 3d.
