THE VICTORIAN CONTINGENT.
(Received November 10, 9.42 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. The Premier (Hon. A. M'Lean) has received a cablegram from Lieut. -General Sir A. Gaselee commending the discipline of the Victorian Naval Brigade on the march to Paoting-fu. The Lieut. -Governor received a cable message from the Hon. J. Chamberlain requesting that the men might be illowed to remain in China, as they have proved themselves to be most suitable tor the work required. The Government will probably accede to the request.
