Obituai'y. — Mr. Sims Reeves, aged 78 years. [From about 1845 to well on in the eighties, Sims Reeves was England's leading tenor finger, and never failed to attract large audiences wherever he appeared, whether on : ithe concert platform, the operatic stage, or in oratorio. In later years an affection of the throat frequently caused ' him to fail in his engagements, but an indulgent public was always ready to forgive him. Recently, he has fallen into comparative poverty, and only a few 1 months ago it was reported that he had been granted r pension from the Queen's privy purse.]
