The latest case to come before the Court of Appeal is one^relating to liability in respect of Bank 'of iScw Zealand shares. In 1&)4 Mr. Mark Kebbell sold to iur. F. W. Mr. Ollivier paid the first' instalment of £1, 2s per share, and Mr. Kebboll was compelled to pay the remaining two moieties, as the registered proprietor of the shares. Shortage of supplies seems still to be the only cause by which fairly high prices for mutton can be maintained, and more especially when these are concentrated in few hands. Beef continues to realise payable prices, and meets a good demand, aa it continues to give satisfaction to bxiyers, who speak well of its quality." Mr. Cameron add 3 that Messrs. Cooper and Co., of Liverpool and Glasgow, are very well satisfied with their experiment of specialising lamb. During the height of the season oVer 250 oarcases of lamb were disposed of by the firm each week. The Wellington Rowing Club got off two more heats of its senior four-oared race yesterday afternoon. The crew stroked by Shilling beat the crew of which Player is stroke, by over a length.
