Beef, fine, 2Ca 9d ; medium, 25s 6d. ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. CHRISTCHURCH, 12th September. At Addingtou to-day tho fat cattle pens contained 190 head of good average quality. Busihess, however, was not very brisk, and prices showed a fnrbhor fall. Steers brought from £G 2s Gd to £0 15s : hollers, .£4 7s (M to £1 103, and up to .£8 17s Gd for oxtra good : cows, -£4 7s Gd to £6 17s 6d, two extra good ones bringing .£7 15s and 17s Gd. Prices were equal to 22s to 2<is per 1001b for prime beef and 17s to 2ls for cow. Medium quality dairy cattle sold at to £1 10s. The entry of store cattle consisted largely of young- animals, the quality not being firstclass. Yearlings brought 16s ; 15-months'-old cattle, £1 7s to £1 16s ; ]8-months'-old, £2, 2s ; dry cows, £1 15s to £3 9d ; 2£-years'-old heifers, £3 ss. In fat sheep prices showed an all-round improvement. Freezers fetched from 18s to 21s ; hoavy wethers, from 18s to 23s : light and nnfinisbod sorts, lUs lid to 17s Gd ; butchers' owes, 17s to 21s .3d; merino wethers, suitable for freezing, 16s 2d to 17s 8d ; for butchers', 14s 9d to 15s Id ; merino ewes, 14a 4d. Store sheep — Tho chief sales were 112 wethers at 15s sd, 405 hoggets at 15s, 126 ewes with 100 per cent, of lambs 11s, all counted. The entry of lambs was the largest of tho season, 83 being penned. Prices ranged from 10s to 17s 6d, most being sold at 12s 6d to 13s 6d. A fairly large yarding of piga came forward, and prices for all classes showed improvement. Baconers brought from 32s 6d to 425, porkers 22s to 31s Gd, stores J2s Gd to 22s Gd, suckers aud woanera 4s to lls 6d ; prices being equal to 3Jd to 3jd per lb for baoouers, and 3£d to 4d for porkers. Abraham & Williams, report as to their Jbhnsonville sale as follows : — Fat cattle in usual numbers, of good quality. Prices were rather lower than last week. Ox beef made 2ls the 1001b. Prices ranged from £7 5s to .£10; fat cows, good quality, £G 2s Gd to .£6 7s Gd, equal to 19s tho 1001b. Sheep, in average supply, were notably second-rate to inferior sorts. In these classes there was a distinct drop, more especially as regards wothers. Good quality wethers kept their value. Theso mado 18s 2d; others, 17s lOd ; light wethers, lGs 3d to 16b lOd ; stores, 14s ; medium fat ewes, 14s 3d ; inferior to light, 13s to 13s Bd. A fair muster of pigs. Porkers of small to medium weights showing quality made their value ; rough 6orts were neglected. Baconers, 31s Gd . porkers, 14s 6d to 19s.
