REINFORCEMENTS.
GENERAL WARREN'S DIVISION. CAPETOWN, 23rd December. Liout. - General Sir Charles Warren's Fifth Division of the South African Army wsl bo sent on to Durban to reinforce General Sir Redvers Buller's command. The Second Battalion (54th Foot) of the Dorsetshire Regiment (Lieut. -Colonel O. H. Law) has arrived at Durban. A cavalry regiment is being sent from India to the Cape ; also, two thousand native cavalry horses. The Spectator advocates the mobilisation *of the' navy and the formation of a territorial army of 100,000 men who have seen service. The journal in question also favours large purchases of artillery being made with the object of deterring any foreign interference in the Transvaal. [General Warren's Division, which must have been arriving at Capetown for days pa*i, is composed as follows : — Ninth Brigade — 2nd Royal^ Lancaster! 2nd Lancashire Fusiliers, Ist South Lancashire, Ist York and Lancaster, Supply Column, Noi 25 Company Army Service Corps, Bearer Company, No. 6 Company Royal Army Medical Corps, Field Hospital, Depot Companies R.A.M.C. * Tenth Brigade—^2nd Royal Warwickshire, Ist Yorkshire, 2nd Dorsetshire, 2nd Middlesex, Supply Column, No. 33 Company A.S.C., Bearer Company, No. 10 Company By.A.M.C, Field Hospital, No. 11 Company, R.A.M.C. Divisional Troops— -14th Hussar?, 19th Field Battery, 20th, 28th, Ammunition Column, 37th Field Company Royal Engineers, Supply Column, No. 12 Company A.S.C., Field Hospital, No. 15 Company R.A.M.C. The personnel of the division reaches 11,013 officers and men, with 1263 horsee, 18 guns, and nine machine-guns.]
