Up the back stretch Knighi of Athol was still \n the van, with Record Reign and Explosion handy, Coronei and Blue Jacket being on terms fourth.
Across the top stretch Record Reign, impioved his position, and was a neck in front of Knight of Athol, AVith Blue Jacket third. At the horn? turn Blue Jacket shot up, and catching Record Reign a few strides further, stalled off a determined challenge in the straight by Coronet and won by two lengths. Record Reign was three-quarters of a length away third, with Explosion fourth, followed by Knight of Athol, Admiral Hawke, and Battleaxe. Auld Reekie was last. Record Reign and Explosion ware about even favourites on the totaiisator, move than half the money invested being on them. Time 3min 29 4-sseo. Dividend. £28 16s.
