AN ERRATIC STEAMER. HER CAPTAIN SEVERELY PUNISHED.
[PEESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received February 14, 9.80 a.m.) Melbourne, This Day. The Marine Court of Enquiry into the Arrawatta-Ching Tv collision has arrived at its decision. It 1 found Captain Lee, of the Arrawatta, to have been guilty of misconduct, and fined him £52, besides suspending his certificate for a month. [The collision in question occurred in the Yarra River as long ago as the 24th September. The steamer Arrawatta (a vessel of 2114 tons, belonging to the Australasian United Steamship Company) met with three collisi6ns within a few minutes. First she collided with the, China steamer Ching T.u, which was struck amidships, and was considerably damaged. The Arrawatta then ran into a lighter, and also carried away a portion of the wharf.]
