TEE MIDLAND RAILWAY TROUBLE.

THE APPOINTMENT OF A RECEIVER. The Midland Railway matter was advanced another stage yesterday afternoon. Mr. Justice Edwards, after argument in Chambers, sanctioned the appointment of Mr. James Coates, General Manager of the National Bank, as Receiver. An order was also made for the sale of the property, but it was stipulated that it should not take place until a further order was made., by the Court and unless the Crown Solicitor has been notified. Sir R. Stout and Mr. Quick were for the debenture - holders, Mr. Gully for the Crown, and Dr. Findlay for the Company.
