[PEESS ASSOCIATION.] London, 30th May. H.M.S. Barfleur, first -claxs battleship (14-guns, 10,500 tons, 13,500 h.p., 185 knots), replaces H.M.S. Grai'ton first-class cruiser (12 guns, 7350 tons, 12,000 h.p., 20 knots), as flagship ou the China station. Captain Visher, late of H.M.S. Orlando, will command the Grafton. Pakis, 30th May. French newspapers advise the strengthening of the defences of Noumea, owing to its proximity to Australia. (Received May 31, 9.15 a.m.) Vienna, 30th May. The Austro-Hungarian Government has deferred till September the introduction of the Bills giving effect to the Ausgleioh or arrangements for directing the joint expenditure of Austria and Hungary, lfhron Banffy, the Hungarian Premier, is endeavouring to secure an extension of the existiug treaty. London, 80th May. The death is announced of the Bight Hon. Sir Thomas Dyke A'claud, Bart, P.C. (who represented Devonshire and Somersetshire constituencies in the House of Commons for most of the period 1837-1886), aged 69.
