» [PRESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received May 30, 10 a.m.) Adelaide, This Day. The Birthday Cup was won by the Thunderbolt mare Thunder Queen, Princess of Wales finishing second three-quarters of a length away, with Eleusinian third. Thero were eighteen starters, and the time was 2min 41£ sec. MIRAMAR TROTTING MEETING. Tlie weather promises to be fine for the Winter Meeting of the Wellington Trotting Club, to be held at Miramar to-morrow. A programme of eight events has been arranged, and competitors have arrived from Christchurch, Palmers-ton, and Auckland to take part in the meeting. Although the fields are not large the events should be well contested, thus providing a fair day's sport. The first race starts at 12 o'clock sharp. The following should run forward :— Trial Handicap, Dynamite; W.T.C. Handicap, Avvahuri; Pony Handicap, Plunger; Kilbirnie Handicap, The General; Electric Handicap, Imperial ; Selling Handicap, Tussock ; Da.«h Handicap, Woodbine ; Final Handicap, Imperial.
