Le Temps, referring to the report received at Brussels regarding the attack on the French expedition at Bahr-el-Ghazal, Central Africa, states that the latest news from the expedition was its reported massacre in July last near Mwombo. Rome, 9th December. The officials and employe's of the Vatican protest against the payment of Income Tax to the Italian Government, claiming that the tax is opposed to the extra-territorial rights guaranteed by the Civil Government. Calcutta, 9tb December. The Indian Council will offer bills amounting to 40 lakhs of rupees for subscription on Wednesday. The Council requires £6,000,000 within three months.
