THE GERMAN DESCENT UPON HAYTI.
[PBEBS ASSOCIATION.] Beblin, 9th December. The compensation demanded by Germany from Hayti for the illegal imprisonment of Herr Ludens was not obtained without a display of force. One of the German cruisers was cleared for action, and half an hour before the expiration of the time fixed for paying the indemnity all the demands were conceded, and within three hours the compensation was paid on board the cruiser. (Received December 11, 9.G0 a.m.) Pobt-au-Pkince, 10th December. The President of the Republic of Hayti declares that he only yielded to the German Commander because he was forced to.
