London, 31st August. There is considerable excitement amongst the locked-out engineers at Leeds in consequence of a large firm having arranged for the importation of foreign labour. The firm has already engaged German fitters. ANOTHER VERSION of the GERMAN LABOUR QUESTION. (Received September 2, 9.45 a.m.) London, Ist September. One of theoleading engineering firms at Leeds proposes to erect works in Germany, so as to avail itself of the cheap labpur obtainable in that country.
