EviaiNO Post Office, Monday Afternoon Townsekd and Padl's weekly report on the horse market is as follows : — At our yards on Saturday there was alnrje attendance ; in fact the yf rds were crowded, but there were very few buyers. There was one of the best shows of horses that have been in tbe yards for some time, most notable being the Sydney lot brought over by Mr Lind in the Talimo last week. They were admitted to be the finest lot eter landed, but owing to the late hour of four starting to sell, we were unable to place them all. We sold several horses privately during the week as follows:— Splendid lady's hack, £15: good gentleman's cob, £17 10s ; heary draught, £U ; light actire draught, £H. We quote— Heavy dranehts, £17 to £25 ; light, £12 to £15 j tradesmen's horses, for spring traps, £10 to £14; unbroken active draughts, *12 to £15. We also disposed of several traps during the week, of varions kinds, £7 to £IS. Horse market not buoyant by any means. A. Q. Tame add Co. report on their weekly horse sale on Saturday :— Wo had a very busy day in our horse yard , entries large (over 40 horses being entered), quality excellent, and attendance very good. A special feature of tbe sale was the entry of heavy draughts. They were truly a grand lot, no such horses having been ever seen in the yard before— big, heavy pure Clydesdales— bred in the Oamsru district. Competition was fairly good for them, but owner wonld only port with three, but are now for private sale. We sad also two excellent hunters, good jumpers, from Sydney, and one from Christchurch, one sold at £10, rest held over. Light harness horses were in good supply, but nothing very special, just ordinary sorts. All through we had a very good sale except for some hones from Taranaki, which were not up to expectations, and suffered in consequence. Another special feature was tbe laiee number of traps entered, and which mostly •!Old. We sold draughts, £27 10s, £22, £18 ; light draught marc, £8 10a ; hunter, £16 ; a large number of harness horses from £8 to £10 ; aeed hnroess horses, £5 to £6 10s s crocks from £1 10s to £3 ; express, horse and harness (old), £9 10s ; aaa the sale of a lot of harness and saddles concluded a very late sale.
