The death is announced of Lord Monorieff , who was Solicitor-General for Scotland in 1850 51, afterwards Lord Advocate, Lord Justice Clerk, and President of the Seoond Division, of the Court of Sessions in Scotland. At tho meeting of tho Orient Steam Navigation Company Mr. Fredk. Green, joint manager, faid that owing- to the probable improvement in Australian trade he hoped tho Company would soon be in a position to resume the paying of dividends. Captain John E. Merion has been appointed to the command of H.M.S. Katoomba. Mr. Jameson has opened ths New Zealand Farmers' Co-operative Association offices at 110, Fenchurch-street. St. John's, 28th April. The Newfoundland Parliament has adjourned until Och May, to enable Canada to refer an Important condition of the nnion of the two conntries to the Imperial Parliament. Bombay, 28th April. Prince Kas Rulla, the Ameer's eecond son, has arrived hero en route to England. Thousands of Moslems were present on his arrival, and extended to him a hearty welcome. Madrid. 28th April. The wino export from Spain has reduoed 150,000 gallons annually since 1891. The growers petition for the abolition of octroi duties and a reduction in freight, in order to prevent them starving.
