The members of the Hntt Golf Club roEiimod play ovor thtir links on Saturday after a prolonged recess, the hot and rather wet summer having caused an abnormal growth of grass inimical to the game. The club has found it neoessary to get all this grays cut down, raked together, and burned, v.-hilo much attention haa been devoted to tho putting greens by tho club's greenkeeper, and these look better and more inviting than we have yet seen them. The annual meeting Of tho club has been lixod for Saturday, the 28tu inst., and immediately after tho business ks transacted 1 lio club'fl gold medal (scratch) ttfnd tho St. Andrew's crofs (hani)icap) will bo competed for. •oThe Hutt Ladies' Golf Club, lat-ly formed, has n mombo'ship of "5, and it is not proposed to greatly oxcocd this number, lest tho liaks become too crowded for the comfort of playora. The ladios' club will hold the modal day in May this yoar, on which interesting occasion Dr. Wbitehead has intimated to the hnn. secretary his intention | of presenting a gold broooh for competition, , whilo the gentlemen's club will also offer l prizes in tho form of useful golfing material.
