Rats are found pretty well everywhere but persons would hardly expeot to find them at Che top of a walnut treo, and yet a largo family of young rats were bo found, says the Nelson Mail, a day or two ago. It appears that Mr. Livick employed a man ' to thrash the nuts off his fine walnut ' trees. Whilst doing this the man fonnd at the very top of a high tree a nest made of feathers and grass, in whioh were an old rat and eight young ones. The largo rat jumped out when the man approaohed the nest, but the young vermin wero scoured. This is the first time we have heard of rats having nests at the top of trees. Bt the 8.0. Ruapehu C.
