The ship Wellington, which left Pioton for London on the 12th May, but had to put into itio de Janeiro en route, to repair severe damage sustained through collision with an iceberg, has arrived at London. The steamer Duke of Westminster, which put into St. Vincent, in the Cape de Verde tslatids, in consequence of a breakdown in the maobinery, is being towed to Loidon. The weekly returns of the Bank of England pnblished to-day show the total reserve to bo .£22,524 000, and the proportion of reserve to liabilities 5581. Consols, 103. Three months' bills are discounted at 1 per cont. New Zealand 4 per cent, inscribed stook ex interest, 107. New Zealand 31 per cents 100. New Zealand frozen mutton, first quality, 4Jd ; second quality, 4 3-Bd. Lamb, first qnality, 5Jd. The J* ew Zealand hemp market is quiet About 470 bales of New Zealand dressed, barely fair to good, brought from £14 10s to £16 10s. Kauri gum is quiet, and is only moderate. Heavy stocks prevent any improvement in the market ; fine pale amber, 117s ; throequarter soraped, 67s to 74s ; pickings, about 32a. The butter market is depressed. The Ruabine's factory-made realised from 94s to 98s, while a few fanoy lots brought over 100s ; Danish, 116s. New Zealand long-berried wheat, ex warehouse, 26a 9d, business quiet ; South Australian wheat, ex warehouse, 235 ; Victorian ditto, 27h. Sugar— German beet, 12s 6d ; Java, flat, 15s 3d. No. 1 best Scotch pig iron, f.o b. in Clyde, 435. The captain of the ship Wellington reports that her cargo of frozen meat is in good condition. (Beceivcd April 7, 11.15 a.m.) Stdn*t, This Day. Coptic, from London via Capetown, arrived at 7.30 this morning, and sails at 5 p.m. for Wellington She brings 18 passengers for Australia and 82 for New Zealand. The New Zealand Land Association has received the following London market cable, dated yesterday :— Frozen meats— Mutton market weaker. Canterbury and Wellington mutton is respectively worth 4}d and 4fd per lb. Lamb market weak. Prime New Zealand lambs are worth per carcase 5Jd per lb. Tallow is dull of Bale. Fine mutton and good beef tallows are worth respectively 26s 3d and 24s 9d per cwt. The Union Steam Ship Company has decided to run the 8 a. Ovalau between Fiji and Auckland, and probably on to Wellington, thus providing a fortnightly service in conjunction with the s.s. 'J'aviuni. This will commence with the opening of the sugar season, about the end of May. The local agents have been advised by cable that the ship Oamaru is loading at London for Wellington, and is expected to sail at the end of the present month.
