OLD AGE PENSIONS.
LEGISLATION AT HOME. I UNITED PBEBB ASSOCIATION. I London, sth April. A Bill was introduced in the House of Commons providing that, pensions be limited to persons over 05 years of age, and that they bo made partly self-supporting, the amount of the pensions to range from 7s to 3s Gd per week. Mr. Shaw-Lefevro, Preaidont of the Local Government Board, said the proposal would cost the State £14,000,000. The debate on the motion was adjourned, pending the receipt of the report of the Royal Commission which was set up to consider the question of pensions.
