♦ IBt Tiljcqbaph.J i united pbiss association.] Christchtjbch. 17th January. The area of land sold for cash on th«Cheviot estate is now 6365 acres, for whioht .£33,008 have been received. The area, leased is 27,312 acres, and the capital value ■ of this is .£142,809, and the yearly rental! .£7140. The area remaining for disposal is . 46,237 acres. A ballot of 42 sections of first and second- • class agricultural land on the estate, on • lease in perpetuity, took place to-day. There was a large number of applicants for several sections, but in four cases no appli- ■ oation was made.
