A nambera of offioers who left the Northern Steamship Company's steamers have waited upon Mr. Ransom, the manager, and intimated their willingness to come to work at once. The crew, however, gave notice of their intention to strike, being oalled on to do so by the Seamen's Union in consequence of the Sarah Pile inoident yesterday, when the Lumpers' Union refused to touch the cargo, and Messrs. Donald and Edenborough had accordingly to engage non-Union hands to get it oat. The Unions will boycott the Richmond if possible. No difficulty is anticipated in obtaining a non-Union orew. A mass meeting of Lyttelton Unionists this afternoon unanimously passed a resolution disapproving of the recent disturbances, and repudiating any knowledge of the Bame, and deciding never to countenance anything of the kind, as befog a disgrace to Unionism and opposed to its beat interests. Napier, 12th September. The Star of Victoria ma easily loaded by free labour to-day. The stevedores assert that the meat was never shipped so fast.
