PROPOSED DRAINAGE LOAN. In the matter of Part IX. of "The Munioipal Corporations Act, 1886." I HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that the Council of the City of Wellington proposes to borrow the sum of .£165,000 (one hundred and sixty -five thousand pounds) by way of special loan, under the provisions of Part IX. of the above-named Aot, snob. The providing (in exercise of the powers given to the Council by "The Munioipal Corporations Aot, 1886," and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf) of an efficient system of drainage for the Borough of the City of Wellington (inclusive of any extensions of each borough hereafter to be made) whoreby the sewage and drainage of the borough (inclusive of any suoh extensions) will be conveyed and discharged direot into the sea in Cook Strait. 2. The providing the ooßt of the connection of private premises situate within the borough or any extension thereof with new sewers and drains in eases where existing connections made by private owners or occupiers at their own expense will be interfered with. 3. The acquisition of lands and casein en ta in conneotion with the system of drainage. 4. The payment of compensation to any persons injuriously affeoted by reason of any of the matters or things aforesaid. 5. Any other purposes incidental or in relation to any of the pnrposes hereinbefore defined. And that the Council also proposes to pledge as security for the interest on such speoial loan a speoial rate of 6d (sixpence) in the pound to be made and levied on all rateable property within the said oitv.
