WOMEN'S UNIONS.

An interesting paper written by Lady Dilke, on ' Trades Unionism for Women,' was read by Miss May Abrahams at a late meeting of the Balloon Society, St. James' Hall, Lady Dilke alluded to her connection and friendship with Mrs. Paterson, the foundress of women's trade unions, and gave a sketch of tho scheme she organised some fifteen years ago. At the present time there were some 8000 or 9000 members of women's trades unions in all parts of the country. The labour of women, it was urged, should be adapted to their papapities, and it was thought that wherever men. would admit women into their union, women should be encouraged to join. Lady Dilke's paper concluded with an eloqupnt appeal to the wealthy, not for money so muoh as for the noble influence of personal help.
