Besides those, it is reported that six other children have died during the last few months. Sir Henry Parkes, the Premier, considers that before the conference of the Australasian colonies is held on military matters an agreement should be oomo to betweon the various colonies as to the manner in which machinery is to be provided to bring the whole of the colonial forces under one administrative control in the event of an omergoncy arising. He suggests tho awaiting of Major-General Edwards' report before anything is done.
