QUEENSLAND'S NEW GOVERNOR. A GOVERNOR'S VIEW OF THE SUBJECT. | UNITED PRBSB ASSOCIATION.) (Received December 1, 1 p.m.) London, 30th November. General Sir H. W. Norman, Governor of Jamaica, has been appointed Governor of Queensland. (Received December 1, 1.30 p.m.) Adelaide, This Dat. Speaking at the Caledonian Society's banquet last night, the Govqrnor, Sir William C. F. Robinson, said he did not believe the people of South Australia desired » voioe in the appointment of their Governors, and certainly, in his opinion, the responsibility of the appointmente should test with tbe Imperial Government. It was, pernapa, reasonable that an opportunity' should be allowed the colonies to express their objections in good time if in their opinion there was anything against the proposed appointment. He believed that the Home Government, having necessarily conducted the reoent correspondence on the subject by cable, had misunderstood the wishes of the colonies. He suggested that prominent pnblio men of the different oolonies should go Homo to discuss the question with the Colonial Office and adjust the differences.
