Entries are now being received for the Star Club's annual swimming races, which are to come off in front of the boat-house on Saturday afternoon next: Maiden Raoe, 100 yds; Senior Race, 200 yds; Handicap Race, 100 yd s; Obstacle Race, Fancy Diving, Long Diving, and Coxswains' Raoe (handicap). Entries close at 6 p.m. on Friday. It appears that the Kilner-Speed heat of the Young Fours, Wellington Clnb, was got off yesterday morning, without the permission of the captain or committee, and was only the result of a mutual agreement between the two crews. It is probable, therefore, that the race will have to be rowed over again. Two Wellington gentlemen are negotiating for the purchase of the Manola, one of the fastest second- ol&88 yaohts in Auokland.
