Melbourne, 7th February. It is authoritatively stated that the Government have no intention of floating a new loan at present. The Bank of Victoria has written off .£78,000 for overvalued securities. The net profits for the year ending 31st December last amounted to .£42,000. Adelaide, 7th February. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Joseph Clarke, paymaster of the Imperial pensions for South Australia, on a oharge of embezzlement. It is alleged that he induced pensioners to forward receipts and then failed to send them the money.
