Arrival of the Ship Dunedin.
FATAL ACCIDENT AT SEA. (By Telkgrajph.] Fdnitid pbibb association. I Auckland, This Day. Arrived— Dunedin, Bhip, A. F. Roberts, from London. Passengers :— Saloon — Misses Miller and Roberta, Rev. J. Douglas, Messrs. P. Pelcher, H. J. Stamp, E. Shute, W. B. Smith, T. Smith, K. B. Wilson, J. Jewell. Steerage— Messrs. E. H. Mortimer, Geo. Fraser, K. Maxfield, B. MoGowan, H. Stevenson, and P. McGregor. The Dunedin has made the smartest passage of the season, having been 82 days on the voyage from London. An aooident occurred on the 6th inst. Herbert Clarke, one of the saloon passengers, aged about 21, had gone aloft, as he was accustomed to do frequently, and in attempting to cross from the tnizzenroyal Btay to the mainmast he missed his footing and fell to the deck, a distance of over 100 feet. He was greatly mangled, and, though living when picked up, died shortly afterwards, and was buried off the Hen and Chickens.
