COLLETT, M.A., F.R.A.S. ■ ' (From the Birmingham Chronicle.) fij^HE distinguished journalist, George jL - AnguHtus Sala, in a letter from Australia, published in the London Daily Telegraph, allndes to the fact that the Koyal Mail Steamnhip (which carried him from .San Francif-co to Sydney) had amongst its cargo several tons of St. Jacob's oil. As this medicinal Oil lias also recently been largely imported into Great Britain, we were curious with regard to its efficacy. Wo desired Dr. Collett. M.A., F.R.A.S., of Leicester, to test its utility, and to our Biirpme he lias proved it to be effectual in the absolute cure of rheumatism, neuralgia, rheumatic gout, and other complaints, and states that it is the most speedy and sure remedy that has come under his notice ; and if it were adopted by the general public it would prove the greatest source of happinefss and comfort to many afflicted homes. So satisfied was ho with its efficacy that ho at once drew the attention of his brother, the Rev. J. G. Collett, at the Yorkshire) Noncomforrnist College, Leeds, to the ; and ho, knowing many needed such a remedy, at onco recommended tho same, and to his satisfaction found it answered in each case to which it \?a» applied, and it lias becoipe the remedy adopted by the college p.athoriticsfor rhoumatism, as well as for sprains, bruise-i, io., that may bo received iii the cricket and footb.ill fields and other places. Not only so, but Mr. George Bollhouse, of the Birmingham Fire Brigade, certifies that the members of the Fire Brigade have received groat benefit from the use of St. Jacob's Oil, in cases of severo pains in the back and knees ; ho also states that tender feet and other painful ailments }>avo been immediately cured by its adoption. Not only doe-! he say it is good for the members of the brigade, but for their families, who praiso tho oil very highly for neuralgia and kindred complaints, a few applications only being necessary to effect entiro cures.
