Curious Insurance Claim.
♦ |Bt Tblioraph.] [VKITKD FBXBI ASSOCIATION.! Chbistcbitbch, 22nd February. An unusual claim for insurance was heard at the District Court. Plaintiff, a musioiau, rented a room from defendant, and as he wished to hare good* in the room insured he consulted his landlord, and the latter stated that he had a margin of .£5OO with the Equitable, and plaintiff oonld insure within that margin. Plaintiff accordingly paid a premium, and getting farther goods insured them also. A fire occurred, by which plaintiff's goods were damaged, and he claimed .£2OO therefor. The defence was that plaintiff did not insure the goods nor pay premium, and for farther defence that the goods were not of the value alleged. Jndge Ward refuted a nonsuit, and care judgment for plaintiff for 4127 and ooste.
